Beginner’s Yoga Class Options
We at Raleigh NC Yoga truly believe that yoga should be for everyone. The in-flexible and the flexible. Yoga strengthens and stretches the body all in one practice. The classes listed below are classes that would be perfect for you if you are a newbie(beginner to yoga) or simply want to brush up on their practice. If you have been practicing for awhile it may also be nice for you to be able to test your ego and see how you do going back to the basics of yoga. It is a just wonderful, no pressure experience when you attend any one of these yoga classes.
Each one of our instructors enjoy focusing on form, alignment, benefits of the pose and most of all will constantly remind you to Breathe!!!

Beginner’s Yoga
A great FIRST Class or long-term class for those who want longer stretches, less, up and down movement and more relaxation. This class focuses on right posture alignment, breathing and the use of props. Great for new yoga students those that are nursing injuries or who have special needs.Classes focus on breathing techniques and proper form. Instructors will correct your form and alignment along with educate you on the mental and physical benefits of yoga asanas.
Gentle Yoga
Gentle Yoga uses gentle movements and deep yogic breathing to help alleviate aches, minimize swelling, and strengthen the muscles. Gentle yoga is a relaxing practice that is made for the beginner and/or those with special health needs or weight restraints. It massages all organs in the body while increasing flexibility and lubrication of the joints, ligaments, and tendons. Yoga improves circulation, stimulates the abdominal organs, and puts pressure on the glandular system of the body, which can generally result to better health.
Yin Yoga
Yin was first practiced in Japan, then brought to the United States by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, both well-known yoga teachers who were looking for a deeper, more meditative way to practice yoga. Yin Yoga, known as a “quiet practice,” focuses on longer-held poses (mostly seated) that are designed to slowly and safely stretch the connective tissue in the body.Yin yoga is a form of yoga which is performed to stretch the connective tissues of the body. Primary connective tissues include the hips, thighs and lower spinal area. These types of tissues do not stretch the muscles but they stretch and exercise the bone and joints areas of the body.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is a form of soothing therapeutic relaxation that uses props and blankets to modify traditional yoga postures. The postures gently open the body to deep relaxation and healing. The class is ideal for those going through stressful times suffering from chronic pain illness injury or major life changes. It is also great for anyone who wants to experience rejuvenation of the body and mind through active relaxation and passive stretches and postures. Classes focus on breathing techniques and proper form. Instructors will correct your form and alignment along with educate you on the mental and physical benefits of yoga asanas.
Peaceful Yoga
Find tranquility through this stress release class that relaxes and restores your entire body and mind. This class allows you to focus inward through a series of mindful and restorative poses, as well as breathing techniques and guided meditations. You will also gain flexibility and strength through deep stretching of the muscles. All levels are welcome.
Yoga Rise
The perfect way to begin your day. Center your body. Center your mind and re awaken your spirit. Classes focus on breathing techniques and proper form. Instructors will correct your form and alignment along with educate you on the mental and physical benefits of yoga asanas.
Beginner’s Vinyasa
If you have ever attended a yoga class where they raced the poses and you felt uncoordinated and confused? We created this class to teach you the true philosophy behind this beautiful yogic dance. This class is made for beginners! Vinyasa means “to flow” and also “to link postures together”. Instructor will provide details to poses and teach and guide beginning students how to learn to breathe and move in a conscious dance from pose to pose. Longer holds are added to build endurance and deep stretches keep you flexible and strong. Great also for students that have never been corrected and adjusted and want to fine tune their practice.
Mysore Yoga Express
45 min Lunch Class for the downtowner. The teacher will give options of poses for all levels and you choose how long you stay in your poses and learn to listen to your body. Corrections will always be made and each student will receive personal guidance. No competition and created for ALL Levels.
Beginner’s Capoeira
Capoeira is a unique Brazilian art form that infuses dance, music, gymnastics, self-defense, and the Portuguese language. It was born out of the struggle for freedom. African slaves brought to Brazil in the 16th century disguised this practice of self defense as a harmless dance.
