This pose is a great beginner pose, supporting transition into many of the yoga poses.

This is a restorative pose, calming the brain and alleviating stress and mild depression

Reduces anxiety and fatigue

Improves sense of balance

Helps relieve back pain

Systems it supports:
Skeletal –

Muscular – strengthens back, shoulder and arm muscles

Respiratory – Neutral pose helps bring awareness to breath and the space in the lungs
